Rusin Throws A No-No

Chicago, IL- Reggie Patterson was the last pitcher to throw a no-hitter for the Iowa Cubs. It was against the Omaha Royals on August 21, 1984.

Since then, an Iowa Cub pitcher has not thrown one for thirty years. However, Chris Rusin broke that streak today against the New Orleans Zephyrs, an affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Chris Rusin & Co. beat the Zephyrs 3-0.

Even though Rusin threw a no-hitter, it wasn't spectacular at all. He only struck out three hitters: Matt Angle and Brian Bogusevic. The lefty only gave up two walks to Josh Rodriguez. After the start, he is 2-4 with a 3.58 ERA at Iowa.

Chris Rusin has been called up to the Chicago Cubs before in 2012, 2013, and 2014. He has gone a combined 4-9 with an ERA of 4.54.
